Week One

The Unit Circle LAB |
Week Two
Tuesday:
Law of Sines and Cosines LAB |
Thursday:
Review Day |
Friday:
Midpoint Unit Test |
On Monday we will start off the unit by discovering right triangle trigonometry through inquiry. The students will find values of trigonometric functions for acute angles of right triangles and solve the triangles. In the Direct Lesson on Degrees and Radians, students will use their prior knowledge finding values of trigonometric functions to convert degree measures to radian measures and vice versa. Both of these topics will help set the stage for learning about the unit circle and how it is used. Both radian and degree measures are used in the unit circle and students will need to be able to find values of trigonometric functions using the unit circle. The lesson on the Law of Sines and Cosines will combine information from all three of the previous lessons. Students will need to know how to solve right triangles using trigonometric functions as well as how to reference the unit circle in deriving the Law of Sines and Cosines. The Graffiti Review Lesson will connect all of the key concepts together as the students prepare for their Midpoint Unit Test.
